What an awesome day today at FBC. We had the priviledge of baptizing two souls and 1 came forward to be baptized next week. God is surely blessing FBC Imboden and I pray that He continues to pour out His blessings upon us. I look forward to Sundays, the time when I get to be with God's people worshiping Him.

We have several important things coming up on our church calendar. This Saturday, April, 28 is our workday. Then Sunday evening at 6 PM we will gather at the Imboden, First Assembly for our ministerial alliance 5th Sunday singing.

Got back tonight from a mission trip to Atchison, Kansas. Spent 3 days shoveling mulch, prayerwalking, passing out information for a new church start, and spending time helping church planters Scott and Melissa Murphy. Had a great time with fellow ministers from the Black River Baptist Association, Brent Powell, Bob Kary, Hal and Esther Garrett. Pray for Scott and Melissa as they continue the work God has called them to in Atchison. There is no Southern Baptist Church in the city and a strong evil presence is there.

Congratulations to Hannah Medley and Maegan Austin for graduating from Sloan-Hendrix High School. Both of these ladies were honor graduates. We pray God's blessings on them in their future.

Also congratulations to Courtney Davis upon her graduation from Black River Technical College and Cody Aldrich upon his graduation from Williams Baptist College.

Our church is proud of these students in their accomplishments and pray that they will continue to do well in their lives.

As you know a devastating earthquake struck the nation of Japan. Thousands of lives were lost in the quake and the tsunami that followed. I urge you to be in prayer for the Japanese people and the rescue and recovery effort that is going on. Our Arkansas Baptist State Convention has a Japan Relief Fund set up for anyone wishing to donate. You can do so two ways:

As I am writing this, I am stuffed from lots of turkey, dressing and all the trimmings that go with the thanksgiving meal. I am thankful to have made it home safely from a trip to Tennessee to see family. There are so many things to be thankful for. The Christian has much to be thankful for. We have salvation in Christ Jesus, we have forgiveness of sins, and we have an eternal home in Heaven where we will be with the Lord forevermore.

We're getting ready for Revival Services, Oct 24-27. Bro Sonny Simpson, pastor of FBC Newport will be our guest speaker for the week. I am excited about what God has been doing lately in our church and looking forward to what He will continue to do. I invite each and every one to attend our revival services and if you are looking for a church home, come give us a try. We are a loving congregation, love for the Lord, first of all, and love for one another. Sunday Night, Oct 24 is designated as Sunday School night.

As we begin a new church year, I am excited at the possibilities and the future of this church. We have had a great year of growth, fellowship, and unity, all because God has richly blessed us. We cannot take credit for ourselves for we are nothing without Christ. As we enter this new year, let us always keep God as our guide using His word as our source of spiritual knowledge.

"New Beginnings" is the vision adopted by the church for the new church year. New and exciting things are happening at Imboden First Baptist Church. Our vision includes a renewed emphasis on our Sunday School. Sunday Sept. 12 has been set aside for High Attendance Day. Each of our classes have set a goal for that Sunday and are making every effort to reach there goal. Also on that Sunday we will have a potluck dinner to "Kick Off" the new year and also welcome back our college students.

Well it's time to celebrate Father's day. Fathers have a lot of responsibilities given to them by God. We are to love our families so much that we would be willing to give our very lives for them. Sadly to say, there are many fathers out there that don't have a clue of what it means to be a Godly father. Many of them aren't even in the lives of their children. Fathers abuse their children and make their lives miserable. We all as fathers should strive to be like our heavenly Father.

I can remember as a kid how I couldn't wait until summer arrived. That last day of school ended and we were free! Our summer was filled with fun things. The times I always looked forward to was church camp and Vacation Bible School.
